November's IPSY bag was a typical one- some hits and some misses. There are some items I truly love and others I won't be using much of. The bag, of course, it so cute! I love me leopard print and the colors go well with "fall" (orange and brown print). Back to the products, Let's review what I received...
NOMAD COSMETICS| Sydney Bathers Kiss Of Sun Bronzer & Contour Powder in Manly Beac
CLAIMS: Formulated with extra-fine pigments and infused with macadamia oil, this super-blendable powder goes on matte, but impressively keeps your skin soft and moisturized. Manly Beach is a rich chocolate shade that can be used as both a bronzer or contour powder. This stunning powder is PETA-certified, cruelty-free, and vegan. It’s also free of parabens, phthalates, and mineral oil.
MY REVIEW: I know I don't need more bronzers but I love finding a good, flattering bronzer and this one is my new fav! I LOVE this shade so much! It's almost like a terracotta bronze and honestly can be worn alone, without blush, since it bronzers, contours, and even adds a little orangy color to my cheeks! It's pigmented but can be worked up easily and won't apply too heavily. It blends out nicely too which is a must for bronzers because I don't like my bronzer to be too sharp or obvious. I'm obsessed with this one!
GIGI GORGEOUS | The Only Blush in Authentic
CLAIMS: Authentic is a warm, peachy coral shade with a matte finish. Swipe on one layer for a natural flush, or layer it on for a bold wash of color. This versatile blush shade flatters all skin tones and builds beautifully to deliver a subtle wash of color.
MY REVIEW: I wasn't sure about this blush because it's bright! For my olive, light/medium skin tone, I prefer more natural pink/coral shades, nothing bright like this one but mixed with some bronzer and this color can looks really cute. I still don't wear it most of the time but it's pigmented, applies evenly, and comes with a handy mirror so it's nice for travel or to have in your purse. For those rare occasions where I do want a super bright cheek, I'll definitely reach for this one as it is a nice formula!
MURAD | Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30 | PA+++
CLAIMS: This everyday moisturizer helps shield skin from environmental aggressors and sun damage, while brightening your complexion with vitamin C. It contains ginkgo biloba leaf, an antioxidant and plant native to China, which is super effective at fighting free radical damage. Broad spectrum sunscreens block UV rays, so you can rest easy knowing that your complexion is protected, without leaving an unsightly white cast to your skin. This nourishing lotion has an uplifting citrus scent, absorbs nicely, and is great for all skin types.
MY REVIEW: I get curious yet nervous to try new moisturizers, especially with spf, because not only can my skin react badly but spf products can be challenging to enjoy. Many give a white cast, have a strong scent, and can be thick. Luckily, this one is actually really nice on the skin. It does give a tiny white cast but nothing super noticeable. It applies nicely, sinks in nicely, and feels... well, nice! My face actually feels SOFT (which is rare for an spf product) and and not greasy at all. I also enjoy the light citrus scent!
BEAU GÂCHIS | Eye Shader Brush
CLAIMS: A brush for all seasons—create subtle to smoky eye looks with this versatile eye shader that’s densely-packed to press on cream and powder pigments, and blend them out smoothly. This small brush is great for adding details to your eye looks, and the curved tip is just the right size and shape for blending shadow into your eye crease and for smudging out eyeliners. Bonus: You can use it with concealer, too! The slightly tapered tip works perfectly on your brows, dark spots, and under eyes. The baby soft bristles are easy on your skin, and are made with synthetic hair—so it’s cruelty-free.
MY REVIEW: This brush is an odd one for me. It TINY so you can't really pick up much product with it for your lid or all over. It is nice to use for detailing, such as packing on color to the crease or outer edge, water line, etc. It's also not soft but pretty dense and rough. However when you use it as I suggested, to pack on some color in specific, small areas, the dense feel and small size of the brush comes in handy!
WANDER BEAUTY | Wanderess™ Glow Highlighter in After Hours
CLAIMS: Enjoy this exclusive product that blends seamlessly into your skin and delivers a long-lasting soft, radiant glow. Enriched with sunflower seed oil and camellia seed oil, this glowy powder hydrates and soothes your skin upon contact. Sunflower seed oil is rich in vitamin E, which is known to help calm your skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Camellia seed oil contains antioxidants to nourish your complexion and keep your skin soft and supple. It’s brilliantly formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, and synthetic fragrance. WANDER BEAUTY products are cruelty-free.
MY REVIEW: I love collecting highlighters and IPSY usually sends me really nice, high quality ones but this one is not a fav of mine at all. It is super metallic and chunky which adds so much texture to my skin! Highlighters can be tricky for that reason- they either add texture or enhance the texture already on your skin and this one is in no way flattering. I don't think any highlighter should be so metallic. This can be cute as an eye shadow, though!
