September's IPSY glambag was so freaking cute! I loved the light pink, celestially theme with a cute little (fake, but still cute) crystal hanging from the zipper. It came at a time when I myself was beginning to explore astrology and crystals, this this was a nice coincidence! I received a good mix of products, nothing amazing but still some good stuff so let's review...
OFRA COSMETICS| OFRA x Madison Sweet Stuff Blush
CLAIMS: Sweet Stuff is a dusty pink blush that flatters all skin tones. It’s highly pigmented, buildable, and blends without streaks. This multitasker can also be used to create a pretty wash of color on your eyelids.
MY REVIEW: I'm always excited for a new blush (I hoard so many) but I wasn't sure about this blush because it looked a bit too cooled toned. Luckily, this color is flattering on my skintone and looks like a nice natural pink. Mixed with some bronzer and it looks even prettier! It is quite pigmented which I learned fast the first time I used it! Little goes a long way, builds easily, does blend well, and it's a huge size! PS it's much more cool toned than it looks in the picture, for some reason my camera kept making it look more peachy.
COLOURED RAINE | Eyeshadow in Glamour
CLAIMS: The metallic foil finish of this eyeshadow is amazing on all skin tones. Velvety smooth and richly-pigmented, the formula blends easily onto your eyelids. It’s long-wearing—this shadow stays put and won’t crease. Glamour is a shimmery pearlescent champagne shade with a striking metallic finish.
MY REVIEW: This eyeshadow is a really nice unique shade. It's not super pigmented but you can build it up. It is smooth and goes on easily but I find packing it on with a dense brush gets you better pay off than just applying with a blending brush, as with most metallic shades. The glitter can be a bit lose so I don't bother swiping it with anything other than my finger or a dense, flat brush. it is a bit cool toned so I don't think ti works with just any eye look but for that nice, shiny, subtle eye look, I think it's perfect!
MURAD| Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisturizer
CLAIMS: This luxurious yet lightweight cream has advanced hyaluronic acid technology, which provides 24-hour hydration, restores suppleness, and visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Coconut extract helps enhance moisture retention and gives your skin an ultra smooth texture. This power player instantly relieves dry, dehydrated skin and evens out skin tone. It’s gentle enough to use day or night.
MY REVIEW: I've always been curious about Murad products but they're quite pricey so getting some samples in my IPSY bag was exciting. This moisturizer, just looking at it, appears very luxurious because it's a nice, thick cream. It's not too thick, still applies super easily and feels lightweight, but it's not thin at all. It feels as if it's already going to work as soon as you apply it, giving you a nice moisturizing coat that feels like it's sunk right into the skin! I can't feel it at all! I hate creams or even body lotions that just sit on top of the skin. I take my moisturizers serious because my skin can be sensitive and breaking out is so frustrating. i didn't notice any break outs with this, and it dried down matte which is nice too. I've only been applying it at night and haven't been using it long enough to see if any fine lines or wrinkles have diminished. I have seen my skin tone even out and overall see my skin looking very plump and moisturized! You get a good amount, enough for a couple of weeks!
CLAIMS: This reparative, potent leave-in deep conditioner works instantly to help restore essential hydration and natural vibrancy to dry, brittle, over-processed, or lackluster hair. Regular use produces healthy, stronger hair in between washes and heat styling. It delivers a blend of transformative nutrients including B-vitamins, rosehip and argan oils, algae, and biotin, to replenish damaged hair. It's safe and effective for all hair types, including color-treated, keratin-treated, chemically-treated, and relaxed hair.
MY REVIEW: This hair product is potent- in smell! I can not stand the smell. It is a strong, perfumey, chemical scent that I honestly do not want lingering in my hair. It does smooth out any frizz, and make the hair look shinier but I only used it once since I do not like the scent at all!
LA BEAUTE FATALE COSMETICS| Matte Liquid Lipstick in Tuff Love
CLAIMS: This creamy, longwear liquid lipstick coats your lips in richly-pigmented color, while feeling light and airy. The easy-to-use click pen applicator is perfect to toss in your makeup bag for on-the-go touch-ups. Contour your lips with multiple shades to get a dramatic look, or stick with this gorgeous shade to complement all of your looks. Tuff Love is a beautiful, deep mauve shade that’s super versatile.
MY REVIEW: I'm not a fan of these mauve shades, they're much too cool toned and are not flattering on my skin tones, in my opinion. I did do a swatch of this and it wasn't very creamy at first but the more product you pump out, the creamier and easier to apply. It dried really quickly but doesn't dry down very nicely, it's very dry looking sometimes and can be hard to remove. It also leaves a small stain.
