NYX and MIlani are two affordable drugstore brands who have a good reputation. NYX products can be hit or miss for me, most of them being good but nothing amazing. As for Milani, I haven't tried many of their products and actually want to use more and more as they are popular. For my first haul of these two brands, I purchased some eye and face products including eye primers, setting sprays, and an eyebrow product...
Milani Eyeshadow Primer: This primer isn't the best I've ever tried but ti does work the best out of all these primers. It's thicker and has a nude tint to it. It's easy to apply, dries quickly, and blends well into the skin. I also like the consistency because I noticed it doesn't crease so easily. I'm able to wear this primer for most of the day before it creases a bit.
Milani Make It Last setting spray: This setting spray is highly rated and while I've been using the NYX matte one for years I wanted to find something with more lasting power. This spray does dry quicker than the NYX one which I really like because I'm impatient. I also like how it sets my makeup and I do find that it is a finer spray and lasts longer. But I honestly can not stand the scent of this spray. It has a strong, perfume scent. It eventually fades but I try to hold my breathe while I'm spraying this.
Milani Stay Put Eyebrow gel: I already use and love The Glossier Boy Brow and ELF Wow Brow but I really liked the look of the brush for this Milani eyebrow gel and it did turn out to be great! The brush is bigger and had more bristles than most eyebrow products which is favorable for me because I like my brows too look as natural as possible so having the hairs brushed and defined so well helps. The product is also buildable, you can apply as little or as much as you want whether you want a more subtle brow look or more filled brows.
NYX HD eye primer: This primer works better for me than the Proof It primer. It's lightweight, light nude color that dries transparent, and applies easily. It does last longer than the Proof it primer but not longer than the Milani primer. It creases half way through the day and creases quite a bit. By the time the Milani one creases, it's not as much as this one does.
NYX Proof It eye primer: I had high hopes for this product as it had a ton of good reviews. It's a light formula, transparent, but did not work for me. It creased so easily and did not last more than an hour so I immediately returned it.
NYX mini Matte finish setting spray: I've used this spray for years but I bought the mini so I can have it in my purse whenever I leave the house (since the summers here are so hot and humid!). This spray isn't the best ever but for the price, it does work well enough, I do have to touch it up half way through the day but it sets my makeup well upon application and works better than some other drugstore sprays I've tried.
