May's Glambag was a mix of good and bad but mostly bad so i didn't review it on my blog since I try to post more positive reviews. June's glambag def made up for May's! Everything I got was great, even if some items were favored more over others. Let's get started...
TONYMOLY| Vital Vita 12 Jelly Cleanser
CLAIMS: Looking for a cleanser that takes everything off in a single step? Makeup, dirt, and oils are no match for this gentle, yet powerful formula.A blend of chlorella and spirulina helps clear your pores of impurities without stripping your skin of its natural oils, so you’ll feel hydrated, soft, and squeaky clean. Healthy vitamins, including A, B, C, and E, help improve elasticity, brighten your complexion, and boost hydration. It’s a light, orange jelly that spreads evenly and easily all over your skin to melt away the icky stuff that gets into your pores. The citrus scent is beyond refreshing.
MY REVIEW: This cleanser is amazing! I get very skeptical with cleansers because a lot of them can be drying but I get excited to find new cleansers because skincare has become to important to me in recent years. First of all, this cleanser is different as a jelly- a little goes a long way ( i mean don't use more than a pea size or else it clumps), and you really have to lather it onto the skin since it's a jelly. It feels very nice on the skin and doesn't smell like anyting- just a light clean scent. I don't even smell citrus. This cleanser doesn't dry my face but my face definitely feels clean and looks clean. It evens out my skin tone and leaves my face feels soft and fresh! Highly recommended!
BELLÁPIERRE COSMETICS| Banana Setting Powder
CLAIMS: This color correcting powder camouflages redness and dark circles instantly. Since it’s a loose, semi-transparent formula, you can use it alone as a low-key highlighter, or over your makeup to set and amp up the color-correcting power. It’ll brighten up your lids, too. This powder also works as a neutral base for any eyeshadow shade.
MY REVIEW: I've had bad experiences with banana shades, as much as i want to love and use them. Powders, especially setting ones, can be hit or miss and banana shades can be even tougher because of the shade and function. This powder, however, is really nice! The powder is fine milled, applies and blends easily, looks smooth, and does brighten a bit! My biggest concern with powders is smoothness and I'm impressed that it doesn't add texture and actually makes my face and undereye look and feel smooth!! As an undereye setting powder, I do feel like I have to pack it on but I have to do that with alot of powders because my undereyes crease easily. So as a setter for under my eye it's nothing revolutionary, works like my other powders (Laura Mercier, Cody Airspun) but I love that it looks smoother than most powders! And the color is perfect- it's not too yellow, it's more of a translucent, pale yellow!
SUGAR COSMETICS| Contour De Force Mini Highlighter in 01 Champagne Champion
CLAIMS: This powder highlighter gives your skin an instant boost of radiance—#nofilter needed. A little goes a long way! This formula is so richly pigmented, just a smidge gets you glowing in a flash. The champagne-gold hue flatters all skin tones.
MY REVIEW: I'm a sucker for a champagne colored highlighter! And I've been getting a lot from IPSY so I feel very spoiled. This is one the best highlighters I've got. It's not chunky or glittery so it goes on smoothly and looks so gleaming! It blends easily but a little goes a long way so be careful how much you pick up and apply!
TETRIS™ X| IPSYEyeshadow in Top Out
CLAIMS: New to metallics? You’ll be surprised at how versatile they can be. Use them all over your lids, to line your eyes, highlight your inner corners, or add a pop of 3-dimensional color to the center of your lids. The rich, creamy formula feels buttery smooth, and it’s very buildable so you can go from subtle to bold in a snap.Top Out is a shimmering royal blue packed with flecks of glitter that capture light and reflect it back on you.
MY REVIEW: I was set on donating this shade because the color looks very nright and intimidating. I don't wear bright shades and don't play with color much but I swatched the shade just to check out the formula and omg this shadow is so buttery and pigmented! It blends soo beautifully. I decided to keep it after applying ti to my eyes and seeing how well it applies and blends out. I was shicked and really loved the look!
TARTE| Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15 in Medium Sand
CLAIMS: Made from a blend of powerful peptides, this cream helps to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Plumping hyaluronic acid helps to hydrate and smooth the outer layers of your skin. The gel-cream texture is really lightweight, so it won’t leave your skin feeling greasy or shiny. You won’t run out quickly! This stuff is super potent, so a teeny amount goes a long way.
MY REVIEW: Firstly, they got my shade pretty spot on! I'm impressed. I was contemplating this foundation recently so it was nice to get a sample, especially a close match for my skintone. Unfortunately, as with many SPF foundations, the added SPF ingredients make the shade dry out to a pale color. So once the foundation oxidizes and dries on my face, the color isn't a match. I end up looking pale with pink undertones. But moving on, the actual foundation itself is nice. It applies and blends nicely and makes my face feel velvet and soft. But it does look like I'm wearing foundation. The foundation is smooth but you can see some texture throughout the day and it get a bit oily for me. I think the velvet matte finish makes my skin look like I'm clearly wearing makeup, even if it looks smooth (it doesn't look like my skin).
