This month's bag was a cute gold sequined one that featured mostly makeup products and one hair item. This may be the first time I didn't get a wide variety of products and it included a few amazing products but a couple of disappointing ones. Let's get into the review...
IT COSMETICS | Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara in Black
CLAIMS: Made with an exclusive Elastic Stretch Technology, this mascara will instantly lengthen your lashes while building them up from the inside out. This formula is like lash rescue, made with superpowered ingredients like biotin and peptides (to strengthen), polymers (to lift), and collagen (to plump). It’s long-wearing (so you’ll barely need touch-ups) and won’t get flaky, even after hours of wear.
MY REVIEW: I've tried this mascara before from IPSY and I LOVEEEE it! It works so well to lift and define lashes as well as build them. I love how dark the formula is and how well it makes the lashes look like falsies!
THE BALM COSMETICS| Nude Beach Eyeshadow in Bootylicious
CLAIMS: This satiny-soft eyeshadow is triple-milled, meaning the powder pigments are at their finest consistency and last longer when applied and blend like a dream. Bootylicious is a beautiful bronze with reddish undertones from the brand’s Nude Beach palette.
MY REVIEW: I get a lot of The Balm samples in my IPSY bags and every single item I've gotten works so well! Their products are great quality and this eyeshadow may be one of my new favs! I love the color- a plum bronze shade- and this shadow glides on and blends sooooo beautifully! It's amazing how easy it is to work with!
NOMAD COSMETICS | Light Infusion Holographic Illuminator in Ko Pha Ngan Moonlight
CLAIMS: Made with prismatic pearls, these pigments can amp up your look with some serious event-ready glam. The silky powder is infused with sunflower seed oil to help nourish your skin. Versatility alert: it doubles up as a pretty, ethereal eye shadow.
MY REVIEW: I am picky about my highlighters- I like champagne or light gold colors so I immediately considered this an eye shadow and as far as purples go- I love an iridescent purple! I think they're sooo beautiful on any skintone and I'm always a sucker for those luminous tones. I have another Nomad sample from IPSY, it's a champagne color, and I love using that one for highlight so every Nomad product I own has been great! Easily applies, blends well, and provide good pigment!
F.A.R.A.H BRUSHES | Tapered Blending Brush 35E
CLAIMS: The tapered tip of the bristles lets you sweep on shadow precisely and effortlessly without fallout. Use this versatile tool with *all* of your powder and cream shadows to effortlessly blend and diffuse, creating a softer look.
MY REVIEW: OMG this brush is sooo legit! I am in love. It's a dense brush, which is good for packing on product and easily applying, but doesn't have bristles too tightly packed so it is easy to blend. And thus brush is SO soft, I couldn't believe how soft and nice it felt on my eyes. I hate trying a brush that scratches or is too harsh for application. This bursh also has little grooves in it so it's easy to hold, which is awesome.
OUAI | Dry Shampoo Foam
CLAIMS: This waterless, quick-drying formula is our new fave for keeping second (OK, third) day hair fresh. Infused with diatomaceous earth (a natural rock that contains tons of silica, proven to thicken and soften hair) this innovative formula naturally removes oil, product build-up, and impurities. Panthenol hydrates, conditions and protects hair against future breakage.
MY REVIEW: I have no idea how this dry shampoo is supposed to work because it's a foam. It's a wet greasy product that when I tried to use made my fingers oily. I'm so confused on how this wet, oily product is supposed to be a dry shampoo. Disappointing!
INMO | Frozen Lipstick in Runway Red
CLAIMS: This baby is long-wearing, highly-pigmented (so a little goes a long way), and doesn’t dry out your lips. What more could we want? It’s made with mint, so it smells yummy and feels cool and fresh on your lips. Runway Red is a bold, red color with a super-shiny finish, giving you glam in a single swipe.
MY REVIEW: This creamy lipstick smells and feels sooo good on the lips! I love the mint because it really tingles on the lips and smells great. But this is a creamy formula and a sheer lipstick. I do not like creamy and the sheerness of it makes it visible to see separation when you rub your lips together. It's way too creamy- like not even buildable creamy and the packaging is soooo cheap-It's very low quality.
