My Foundation Faves

Saturday, November 3, 2018

Recently, I had a friend ask me what my go to foundations are which is a topic I’m very excited to share. Finding a cruelty free foundation that not only works but is a affordable can be a long hunt and I have finally found two that work so well for me! Not only do they match my shade (which is very hard for my skin tone) but they are also matte and easy to buy.

The first one is Wet N Wild Photofocus. I’m in the shade golden Beige. I’ve been using this foundation for about two years and it’s a cult fav for me. I was using it before I even found out how much beauty gurus rave about it so I was proud because I really think it’s amazing. It’s matte, lightweight, med to full coverage, easy to apply and blend, and it’s only $5! You get a lot of product, it comes in a glass bottle, and the application is a little spatula which some might find wierd but hey it’s better than the MAC bottle I was using that you had to dump product out! It is a thin consistency which makes it easy to blend but you may have to build it up for that fuller coverage.

The second foundation I use is the Sephora brand. While I’m content with my Wet N Wild one I do find that it can get oily throughout the day and while it is buildable, sometimes I want something with super full coverage so as an experiment I tried the Sephora one a few months back and i have to say it works good! it’s matte, full coverage, and long lasting! It is $20 and it comes in a glass bottle with a pump (pumps are always convenient!) The only issue I have is this formula does dry quickly so use a little at a time. Don’t apply all over your face because by the time you blend, it will have dried up and is harder to apply.

I personally reach for my Wet N Wild foundation more just because it’s quick and looks more natural. So for an everyday simple look, that’s my go to. But I reach for my Sephora one on special occasions like a date night since it is longer lasting and full coverage!

If you had to pick one, go with the Wet N Wild! It’s cheap, buildable, easier to apply, and a lot of product comes in the bottle. But I still love having my Sephora one if I can afford it because it’s hot here in Arizona and It’s handy to have something longer lasting.

Both foundations come in glass bottles and both are cruelty free (YAS). Neither of them has given me breakouts which is awesome because my skin has grown sensitive. Comment below if you have a go to foundation and if you use either of these!
