Film Review: Passengers

Sunday, January 8, 2017

Recently released, Passengers is a science fiction/fantasy movie  about two people who wake up early on a 120 year voyage to another planet. Stranded on a space ship until it lands in 90 years, Jim and Aurora have all the time in the world until they realize the ship has some malfunctions that not only threatens their lives but the lives of the other 5,000 passengers still hibernating on the way to a new home.

I really loved this movie. Not just because Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence are two of my all time favorite actors, but because this movie has a good blend of sci-fi, comedy, romance, and thrill. First of all, Chris Pratt is very sexy and plays a very charming and emotional role. He's not only playing a role of knight in shining armor, he is also playing a very emotional humanistic role in which his love for Aurora is tested and wears him down. He has this raw emotion of acquiring and losing love. Jennifer Lawrence is always acting her best and in this movie she plays a determined woman, trying to solve dilemmas and basically survive the terrible situation.

Both myself and my boyfriend really enjoyed the movie so it's a great movie for couples. As mentioned, there's action, and thrill but also a splash of romance. I highly recommend it!
